There may be up to 3 versions of any one character in game.

However, each version of any one player's character must be distinctly different from any other player's version of the same character. For example; a young Anakin Skywalker, a Darth Vader, and a female!Anakin Skywalker would all be acceptable participants, whereas Harry Potter taken from the timeline of Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter from the Prisoner of Azkaban timeline, and a Harry Potter from The Goblet of Fire would not be enough of a difference.

All powers will be nerfed down, sans physical changes, since they could have variable and uncontrollable effects on the Capitol and its authorities. They will be brought as close to baseline human as physically possible. Your character has no control over this. The Capitol does. You're welcome.

Powers can, at times, work within the Arena based on Gamemaker discretion. The mechanic for how powers will be activated will be included in the Arena write-up.

Right now there are no plans for this in the Capitol. However, some Arenas grant powers to unpowered characters.

You do not need to read the Hunger Games to play here, but we recommend it, especially if you are playing a Panem AU. The movies are also available on Netflix, and we try not to deviate too greatly from their setting.

You do, however, need to read all of our posts. We know it's a lot. However, when we decided to create this game, we knew things would be way more fun if we could recreate a lot of the feelings that the Hunger Games create in the books, while still making the setting RP-friendly. We didn't want to overly plan out deaths, removing all suspense and a lot of what made the books interesting. (Spontaneous slaughter always keeps people on their toes, after all.) We also wanted to create, in and out of character, a feel of competition and advertising yourself as much as possible. And lastly, we wanted to keep it plot-heavy, and not dissolve into a slice-of-life feeling game. To do so, we do need to have more of a guiding hand as mods.

So, we know it's a lot. But hopefully it's worth it.

You can create Hunger Game specific AUs. See this post on who you can app for exact rules.

All objects will be confiscated when the character arrives. A few days later it will be "returned" to the character, however they are free to realize (possibly the hard way) that this is just a well made replica. Small, non-weapons like objects can be taken in as tokens, subject to the Capitol's discretion.

You can app any sort of character. Robot, animals, zombie...as long as they're sentient, and you're fine with someone trying to eat your my little pony.

Which doesn't mean we won't need to tweak them (the most common is getting them close to human size). However, we will try to work with you to keep the Tribute characters as close to their normal as you like them. Each character becomes a special case, but we will work with you on all.

It depends on their needs.

Every Tribute is brought to as close to baseline human as possible. However,a robot won't be forced to need food.

Again, most of these will be taken on a case by case basis to find the best balance between what you want to play, and what's needed to not break the game.

Because their bodies are reset after each arena, most characters will find themselves in a state of never truly becoming better or worse.

However, they may find the Capitol has a cure for their ailment, if you so please.

Non-human shaped characters are welcomed!

They do need to have at least some sort of sentience. And depending on the animal, they may need some shape changing to go on. Either bringing them down to a more human accessible size, or vice versa.

We also have has character moved into human shaped bodies (such as Lady, from Lady and the Tramp.)

This game has a cap of characters (sometime flexed a bit at mods discretion) for Tributes.

When the cap is filled, we close apps. When enough people drop Tributes(10+) we will open reservations.

Reservation do not reserve you one of the open slots, but they do reserve you that version of the character. Reserves will be open a week before apps, and stay open until all the slots are full. You must have a reserve to apply.

Apps open at midnight (EST) a week after reserves open, and will be processed until all the spots are filled.

Your Tribute will enter the arena without any District association. They will be a wild card without sponsors.

OOC you will receive their district for once they die, and any arena specific information you need when you are accepted.

You can app your second, third, and fourth character 2 weeks after the previous character has been accepted.

After your first four characters, you can app an additional one each round, assuming you can prove you are solidly active with your first four.

CRAUs will be considered on an app by app basis like any other AU.

OOC, anywhere!

IC, you need to come up with a solid reason for non-Capitol citizens to be in the Capitol (or Thirteen when applicable.)

This can include, but is not necessarily limited to Victors and people particularly good at a skill that the Capitol would take advantage of. Artist, engineers, soldiers, etc.

By the rules, they can be any age.

However, we do reserve the right to deny character on inappropriateness. A hardened child soldier is no biggie, but a 'break the cutie' type character is going to get more of a critical eye in apping.

This is generally something we leave up to player's discretion.

The Capitol might have the tech to "fix" them, but we also understand that that is not necessarily a plot line players want to play out. In which case the Capitol might not (or might not use that tech.)

Yes!

Canon updating can only happen when a character dies in an arena, and their body is "pulled" from a different place in their world's time.

To apply, OOCly just submit an app update, laying out the changes in history and personality!

Yes. Your character will compete in all the Games, sans the occasional themed Game if they happen to not meet the theme's requirements, until they are dropped, become a Victor, or in-character move away from the Games or petition out. You do not need to re-app them.

The pace in game is generally 1:1, but we are always okay with backdating. It's not set in stone, to give you more freedom as you rp. Time between the Arena and the Capitol is sometimes a little wobbly so do what works best for your thread and the players involved. We are not going to nitpick it.

If you do not pass AC, your character is dropped. You are not able to re-app them until after the following AC. If there is an emergency circumstance, please contact the mods and we'll see what we can do for you.

Failure to meet mid-cycle check-ins will result in a strike, which will require heightened activity before the next check-in.
