SAMPLES Thread: Dear_Mun! If you need more, let me know. Prose:
'Impress them', he was told, but looking up at the shadowy group of figures the Signless sees no one he's remotely interested in impressing. They aren't trolls, he can tell as much from the lack of horns (though one of them has hair that might pass for them), but he's still overwhelmingly reminded of self-congratulatory Highbloods who think they have all the power in the world over lives that mean nothing to them. It's disheartening to find that it's not only Alternian society that has such corruption and oppression as its backbone.
He glances first to the left and then to the right, red and yellow eyes sweeping over what's been laid out for him. Weights. Clubs, with and without spikes. Spears, swords, knives, all things he's been threatened with before. Bows and arrows, darts, a trident (he thinks of the Empress, of Meenah, and shivers). It's overwhelmingly clear what they want to see.
He sighs but makes no move toward any of the weaponry. Instead, he shakes his head and says quite simply:
"No."
Then he sits himself down cross-legged on the floor in front of their observation area, crosses his arms, and waits. They want him to show them he can fight, do they? This is how he knows how to fight. It's a risky choice, he knows, to make this sort of statement at a time when doing so may get him killed, but that's never stopped him before and it certainly won't now. What's the point in having values if you don't keep to them when it truly matters?
They shift uncomfortably as one minute turns into two and then three, and he can tell they aren't impressed. One clears his throat in a way he thinks is perhaps meant to be a prompt for something, but he doesn't respond and instead just stares back at them silently and unblinkingly until he's removed from the room.
What is your character scored: I'd say a 5 to 7 at best. The Signless is a troll and that comes with increased strength and durability, and the ability to see well in the dark (trolls being a nocturnal species). He's also used to a nomadic lifestyle and thus has pretty decent stamina, but as trolls go he's also not that gifted in the offense department. His chosen weapon is the sickle, but it's very likely he's never had to use it on more than plants. His horns are small and nubby, not really good for offense, and as trolls go his teeth, while sharper than a human's, are fairly dull. He's used to hiding from big strong people with big strong weapons that want to kill him, which might be useful, but he's also a big fat pacifist. I can see this either turning the crowd off to him or making them even more interested in seeing him pushed over the breaking point, being disillusioned and forced to go against his ideals; if it were advertised as a fall from grace arc it might capture Capitol attention. In terms of personality he's friendly, charming and like all the mutantblood boys a little sassy, which might earn him points.
